Postcards from the Future?   Since our ad appeared in the Nov/Dec 2003 issue of Dwell Magazine we have been receiving a flood of inquiries. Along with this correspondence we have received a series of photos from satisfied owners of completed Porch Houses. This struck us as very strange, since as of this writing the Porch House has not been built yet. A quick look over our shoulder assured us that Rod Serling was not standing in a shadow introducing an episode of the Twilight Zone. So what was going on? A rip in time? Did I just wake from a 10 year nap?   Actually, none of these things. These images were created by a brilliant digital artist by the name of Patrick Merminod. Patrick lives and works in Geneva, Switzerland where he teaches math and computer science. He maintains an extensive web site of his digital artwork and I encourage you to visit it if you enjoyed these images.   We contacted Patrick several weeks ago to see if he would be interested in composing a vignette with one of our designs. He graciously accepted and after an exchange of digital files he began. Patrick immediately captured the spirit of the Porch House and was able to rapidly compose these settings. For us it has been thrilling to see the house in these convincing situations. I am afraid that all of you out there are the only ones that may be able to top this!
